Donald Steele has been the President of I Love A Clean San Diego since March 2002.
Don is a retired Supervisor for the City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department. He also owned and operated a custodial services company for a number of years. Don is an extremely active community volunteer, sitting on a number of boards and committees including the Mission Trails Regional Park Foundation, the San Diego River Coalition and the Friends of Mission Valley Preserve. Don is well known for his frequent office "dessert drop-ins."
Nancy Acevedo has been an ILACSD board member since 1999. She has served as Secretary since January 2004. Nancy is a retired Deputy Director for the City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department. In addition to ILACSD, Nancy is a current Director of a number of organizations including the Mission Trails Regional Park Foundation, and serves as President for the San Diego Retired Employees Association. Nancy's generosity, and firm commitment make her a true asset to ILACSD.
Bill Haines has been an ILACSD board member since January 2005. Bill is a commercial real estate broker with Grubb & Ellis/BRE Commercial. Bill has been an active I Love A Clean San Diego volunteer and supporter of the environment for a number of years. He is an avid volleyball player, surfer, bicyclist and self proclaimed "beach rat." He has also served as a member of the I Love A Clean San Diego marketing committee focusing on attracting corporate members.
Judy Garrett joined the ILACSD board in early 2006 after a twenty-five year Southern California career in community and economic development, grants administration, fund raising, and administration of a downtown management district. Since moving to El Cajon in 1996, she has been involved with a variety of local organizations including the Arts Center Foundation, the Cajon Valley Education Foundation, the El Cajon Historical Society, the Olaf Wieghorst Museum Foundation, and the city's International Friendship Festival. Judy is a dedicated environmentalist and a proponent of the waste industry's reduce/reuse/recycle programs.
Judy Bishop joined ILACSD as a board member in 2005. Judy is currently the Executive Director for the San Diego Environmental Foundation where she implemented the EcoCenter for Alternative Fuel Education. The hands on interactive 2 1/2 hour program focuses on teaching students in 4th-7thgrades Alternative Fuels and Alternative Fuel Vehicles as it relates to clean air and clean energy, and is the first in the country to address energy independence with students. Additionally Judy graduated from San Diego State University, is a swing dancer, aerobic dance instructor for 30 years, avid golfer and volunteer for Junior Achievement. She has traveled throughout the world, working in China, Middle East and Europe.
Cindy Skach became a board member for ILACSD in 2007. She recently moved to San Diego to continue her marketing career with Time Warner Cable. She joined ILACSD's board to help keep San Diego beautiful and further her interest in environmental conservation. She has previous board experience after serving on the Big Brothers Big Sisters board in Kansas City, MO where she organized a bowling fundraiser with Time Warner Cable. She also served on the board of Pike's Peak Advertising Federation in Colorado Springs, where she focused on driving membership and sponsorship sales. Her interests include spending time outdoors, hiking, biking, and enjoying the beaches.
