Recycling After the Holidays

• When the holidays are over, be sure to recycle your tree. Recycling trees saves space in our crowded landfills and also serves as a great source for mulch. Visit ILACSD's webpage www.wastefreesd.org for more information.
• If you received replacement electronics as holiday gifts or simply have old electronics to get rid of, working or broken, drop them off at the Sustain San Diego Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, January 17th from 9AM - 1PM at the County Admin Building, 1600 Pacific Highway. Visit Recycle San Diego's website for a complete list of accepted items.
  

New High School Watershed Program

This year we have partnered with the County of San Diego to give free classroom presentations to High School students in the unincorporated areas of the County.  These presentations focus on local watersheds, explain the difference between storm water and waste water, and identify everyday actions everyone can take to keep their local watershed healthy. This presentation can be delivered in either a classroom or assembly-style setting and addresses CA State Education Standards for Science, History-Social Science, and the Industrial Arts.
